The Basics: We are in the business of hosting your web pages. Your web site will reside on
our Sun Sparc server which is connected to a switched 10 megabit Internet connection. There
currently is no megabyte restriction or surcharge for popular web sites with PhutureNet.

How we're different: Most Internet Service Providers charge rates based on how much space you are renting. Even if your site is in the modest 10 - 15 MB range this can get quite expensive ! And of course as your site expands, it gets even more expensive. File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
The Basics: File Transfer Protocol's (FTP) job is to move files from one computer to another. It doesn't matter where the two computers are located, how they are connected, or even whether they use the same operating system. As long as both computers speak the FTP language and have access to the Internet, you can use FTP commands to transfer files.
Private FTP is the method you will transfer your web documents to PhutureNet's server so they appear on the web. PhutureNet assigns your web site directory a unique user name and password to protect your documents from harm. You will utilize FTP client software listed on our resource pages to transfer all your files (i.e. html, gif, jpg, wav, etc.) We have also prepared extensive tutorials on how to use this software.
How we're different: We give you access to your account so you can change web content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You’re in control and don't have to rely on your Internet Service Provider to finally 'get around to it' to update your site! With PhutureNet, once you've uploaded your web page changes, they are immediately available on the Internet.
